Brandon Smith (he/him) is an American actor, singer, producer, and filmmaker based in NYC. Brandon has worked in Regional and Off-Broadway theaters, including: Carnegie Hall, St. Louis Symphony, Caveat NYC, Joes Pub Cafe, and more. He has cultivated partnerships with national commercial brands, such as Sabra, Aetna, Hulu, and CVS. His latest project BIll & Robert is currently streaming on Amazon Prime and the Here TV app.

Brandon currently serves as Founder & Artistic Director of Golden Boi Productions. A full production house that produces documentary shorts, feature films, podcasts, and special events centered around social justice. Screenings have been featured on Amazon Prime, Here TV, Urban World Film Festival, Out on Film Atlanta, The Batty Mama-London, and St. Louis International Film Festival. Learn more about GBP.

Brandon creates work that celebrates the joy of marginalized and queer BIPOC communities. Brandon is committed to local activism and organizing. His practice is rooted in blending social justice and storytelling, in order to create meaningful conversations and solutions to issues harshly impacted communities continue to face.

Ronald Hinton

Co-Founder

Ronald Hinton is a Queer, Afro-Puerto Rican actor, writer, and filmmaker raised in the projects of NYC. Living at the intersection of multiple marginalized identities, he founded Shared Soil Productions on the belief that representation is crucial to fostering understanding and building connections.

With his debut feature-length documentary, My Hair, My Rules, winning Audience Choice award at the 2021 New York-Lift Off Film Festival and running a successful crowdfunding campaign for an upcoming web series, his work has already begun to give a voice to and make an impact on his communityhimHe’s excited to continue championing Queer-BIPOC stories, through the creation of the Queer Voices of NYC Film Festival.

Passionate about bringing his whole self, across all intersections to each of his projects, he strives to give a voice to like-minded artists who are creating bodies of work that inspire and empower the Queer-BIPOC community.
